Delete your account
You can permanently delete your HisaabNow account and all associated data at any time. This page explains the two ways to do it and what happens to your data afterwards.
Option 1 — Delete from inside the app (recommended)
Steps
- Open the HisaabNow app on your phone
- Tap Settings (gear icon)
- Scroll down and tap Delete My Account
- Read the confirmation message
- Type the word DELETE to confirm
- Tap Delete Permanently
Your account is queued for deletion. You will be logged out immediately, and your data will be removed within 24 hours.
Option 2 — Email request
How to request via email
If you've lost access to the app or your phone, you can email us to request deletion. We will verify your identity using the phone number on your account before proceeding.
Send an email to admin@hisaabnow.com with the subject line: "Delete my HisaabNow account"
Include in the email:
- The mobile number registered with the account (with +91 prefix)
- The name of your shop (as it appears in the app)
- The reason for deletion (optional — helps us improve)
We will respond within 3 business days, verify your account, and confirm deletion within 7 days.

- All sales, bills, and customer records
- All expense and supplier records
- Staff and commission settings
- AI insight history and chat logs with Munim
- App preferences and configuration
- Push notification tokens
What we are required to keep
Indian tax law requires us to retain certain financial records for 7 years (GST compliance). After your account is deleted, we keep only the following:

This retained data does not include your shop's transaction records, customers, or personal information. It cannot be used to identify you after deletion.
Timeline
- Immediately: You are logged out, your account is marked for deletion, and no new logins are accepted
- Within 24 hours: Personal data is removed from active servers
- Within 30 days: Personal data is also removed from backups
- Within 90 days: All non-essential traces (crash logs, sync queues) are purged
What happens to my subscription?
If you have an active paid subscription:
- Monthly plans: Cancelled immediately. No refund for the partial month.
- Annual plans: If you have used the app less than 10 times in the past 14 days, a pro-rated refund is available. Otherwise, the subscription is cancelled and no refund is given.
- Google Play subscriptions: You must also cancel via Google Play Store (Account → Subscriptions) to stop future charges.
Can I reactivate my account later?
No. Deletion is permanent. If you want to use HisaabNow again, you will need to sign up as a new user and rebuild your data from scratch.

If you're deleting because of a bug, billing issue, or unhappiness with a feature, please reach out first. We might be able to fix it. Most issues are resolved in under 24 hours.
